We hold open days
/ volunteer days down at the mill from 10am on the first Sunday of each
month. Whether you are up for a bit of digging, stone washing, brush
clearing, food organising or would just like to pop along to see what’s
going on, all are welcome!
If you are coming
to help, spades, buckets and scrubbing brushes are always useful!
Whatever brings you to join us, wellies (or some sort of non-precious
footwear) are a must as access is pretty muddy.
We will provide tea, coffee and jacket potatoes from the bonfire, or you
can of course bring a packed lunch. Don’t think of it as manual labour –
think of it as archaeology!!
If you are driving then please park in the car park at Howsham Bridge,
and walk under the bridge and along the public footpath following the
river bank to the island. See
access map.
Under no
circumstances should anyone drive down the track or across the field.
Hope you can make it.
